NCRPO’s Three (3) Steps for Safety This Summer Season
PDIR Leonardo A Espina, Regional Director, National Capital Region Police Office (NCRPO) said as summer vacation peaks there are three (3) steps to safety: (1) vigilance; (2) vigilance; (3) vigilance.
Espina reiterates his order to all District Directors to continuously implement summer vacation (SUMVAC 2013) security plans while he calls for vigilance and cooperation from the public. Although, no major incidents were reported during the Lent, Espina directed all District Directors to continue supervising and monitoring all established Public Assistance Desks (PADs), checkpoints and other Anti-Criminality campaign in all areas of convergence such as malls, MRTs, LRTs, bus terminals, tourist spots, and recreation areas. He attributes the overall peaceful and orderly Lent season to all policemen who rendered duty instead of taking a break as the Metro was on heightened alert. Espina also encouraged all Tourist Police Units in the Metro to manage the “Lakbay Alalay” program putting priority on the safe and orderly travel of all commuters to all destinations. He also instructed all station commanders to work hand in hand with barangay tanods and local government security forces to further implement crime prevention plans suitable in their areas of responsibility.
