CAMP BGEN OSCAR M FLORENDO--- Police Regional Office 1 headed by Police Chief Superintendent Ricardo C. Marquez, regional director deployed 392 police personnel for election duties after a simple send-off ceremony held this morning (May 3) at PRO1 Grandstand as part of the PNP’s campaign to implement secure and fair elections 2013.


PCSupt. Marquez said sixty (60) police commissioned officers and 332 non-commissioned officers were deployed to the present workforce of Pangasinan, La Union, Ilocos Sur and Ilocos Norte. During the ceremony, the regional director reminded them to uphold the sanctity of ballots and remain committed to their duties and responsibilities and never be involved in any partisan political activity. “My challenge now to all of you, remain committed in the discharge of our duties and stay apolitical and non-partisan. Be vigilant and never be swayed by any promises of political candidates,” PCSupt Marquez added.

The personnel will perform their election duties starting today and it will end on May 16. “These additional troops will complement the stations with depleted personnel and will surely boost the security measures in ensuring the conduct of secure and fair elections,” he added. In Ilocos Norte 75 personnel were deployed; Ilocos Sur with 72; La Union 88; and Pangasinan 157. The augmentation came from the personnel of regional headquarters, Regional Public Safety Battalion 1 (RPSB1), Regional Training School 1 (RTS1) and PRO1 personnel who are under schooling at Cordillera Administrative Region Training School (CARTS).
